Faith in the Mirror

©2010 David Moody

I have trouble with some of the simplest things
Trying to fit this devil in these angel wings
Every simple task is a humongous chore
Saving humanity from itself
Just isn’t fun any more

I have trouble making sense and I just don’t know how to say
You’re not beyond my comprehension – just too far away
Everything we asked the Good Lord for
We substitute with something else,
Then there’s a knock on the door

You want more?

Okay, I’ll start at the beginning – we were happy here
Then our happiness – it slowly began to disappear
We forgot to be afraid of things we need to fear
Your faith here

Now that time is short and talk so cheap
What we chose to sow – this is what we’ll reap
What we need to know is how we all can keep
Your faith here

See your faith in the mirror
It will seem much clearer
Once you finally see your faith in the mirror

  1. Seeing my faith in the mirror is a novel concept, but maybe an ages old one. "Walk the Talk" would fit here. I liked your thoughts in Another Day in Paradise. You must write every day. I guess you are more disciplined than I am. Enjoy your long weekend. Rosemary
