Your Plane is Waiting

©2009 David Moody

As the future looms
Weave the fabric of space and time
I peruse the runes
Of a life somebody once called mine

Through your pearly gates
May I shed all my pride and crawl
You and I were mates
‘Til I went and made a mess of it all

Your plane is waiting
While you rehearse your final bow
All your tomorrows
They will reflect your here and now
Let’s enjoy the present
As long as time will allow us to enjoy

Your plane is waiting
For you to finally arrive
Forget your sorrows
Then you’re finally alive
To open up your presence
Like Christmas Day for every girl and boy

Your plane is waiting…
For the pilot
